The heads are mains powered as they draw more current than battery alternatives, and the flash tubes give a richer smoother light,with less harshness

There are 2 main types of studio flash  monoblocs (those that are self-contained requiring only a stand and mains lead as in the picture on the left) and powerpacks (those requiring separate power packs which are contained in a separate floor-standing unit). A variety of  lighting kits are on display in our lighting studio/showroom.
